Glamour Street Glam Recap

One of the downsides to NYFW is the impossibility of keeping an organized schedule; it seems like I’m either frantically running late or killing time and twiddling my thumbs, until the next show. Luckily, there are several fashion week lounges available, where we can recharge our phones/cameras/laptops, indulge in various beauty services, rehydrate, have a snack, take a nap (okay, maybe not take a nap, but that would be great). But here’s the catch: they’re often invite-only, and require an RSVP. Glamour went against that notion of fashion-insider exclusivity, deciding it was a luxury that everyone should be able to partake in. I thought that was a wonderful idea, giving everyone the opportunity to have some complimentary pampering! They asked me to stop by their #StreetGlam pop up at the Chelsea Market, and since it was so close to all of the west side venues, I made my way over there to kill time between shows and check out what they had to offer. There were hair stylists, facials, makeup services, free products, flash tattoos, shoes, bags, a photo booth…the works. Here are some highlights from my visit:

1) I stopped by the Folli Follie booth to check out their new bags and accessories. My last winter go-tos were both Folli Follie – I love their bright satchels for gloomy days!

2) The destination, right inside the Chelsea Market.

3) Follow the lines on the floor to your service of choice!

4) True story: I have a lot of Philosophy products in my beauty cabinet, and it is all because of Oprah. She said their “Hope in a Jar” was her favorite, and like a good little sheep, I listened and bought all of the things.

5) Philosophy was doing luxurious skincare treatments. With a face full of makeup and another destination ahead of me, I had complete FOMO.

6) Folli Follie stacks bracelets and a pink watch.

7) They also had Flash tattoos, which Beyoncé recently wore – and now I have one on my ring finger, which makes us best friends for life.

8) Photo booth pit stop, to finish off my visit.  Sunday (tomorrow) is the last day they’ll be at the Chelsea Market – but it’s open from 12-7. Make sure to stop by, if you’re in the area!
