Makeup Monday: Blushing, Really

Get the look: Too Faced Sweethearts blush, Bobbi Brown Rose Gold eyeshadow (lid), Sugarpill Dollipop eyeshadow (crease), Too Faced La Creme in I Want Candy

Too Faced's pretty packaging always sucks me in, but the products are just as lovely. This monochromatic, rosy look has been a longtime go-to of mine, but the blush itself is a new addition to my makeup bag. With that perfect amount of pigment and adorable heart shape, it was bound to become my new favorite! Have you discovered any new products, lately?

Oh, My Sweet Carolina

Outfit Details:
Cynthia Vincent heels (old)
collared eyelet tee - J.Crew
vintage jumper dress (don't worry, I was wearing shorts with this)
hat - Marshalls
new tattoo by Legion Avegno at Fallen Sparrow (if you follow me on instagram, you probably already saw this!)

I've never spent more than a day in North Carolina prior to this trip, but I sure do think it's beautiful. We made a three day pit stop in Mount Airy, where some of Bobby's family lives, and it was the perfect way to end our long two weeks. His aunt and uncle live on a large, gorgeous property, of which we and the dogs took full advantage: Miku and Bear (family dog) were in their element, chasing each other (and us) all over the place and bathing in the sunlight. There's nothing like fresh air and open space to help you wind down before another long drive; it did us all a great deal of good. Thank you, North Carolina, for being so lovely - and an especially big thank you to Bobby's family for their hospitality. We'll be back, soon!

polka dot, polka dot

boy shirt - J.Crew
circle skirt - Urban Outfitters
heart sunglasses - Forever 21 (old)
necklace - vintage
belt - from my Orla Kiely romper

It's the middle of the night and we just got home from a very long car ride, so I'm going to keep this brief. We're finally back in Brooklyn, and the idea of falling asleep is the best thing I can possibly dream of.

p.s. These pictures are from before we left for Florida - you don't even want to see what I look like right now (a zombie)!

Heading back to normalcy

After two difficult and very busy weeks in Florida, Bobby and I are ready to head back home. We are currently in North Carolina with some of his family, and the peaceful surroundings and warm welcomes are exactly what we all needed! I was a little nervous about the long solo road trip with these two pups (Bobby and his brother were driving the u-haul), but they were absolute angels. Bear could barely fit on the back seat, he's so big (he looks so small in this picture but he's HUGE), but he was a trooper. Though I wish the circumstances were different, the good thing that came out of this was that Bobby and I got to spend time with his family and family friends, and that is priceless. Plus, Miku has thoroughly enjoyed Bear's company. We will have to drive down to visit him and the family more often!

I don't have internet access right now, so I'm updating on my phone from the BlogGo app. It's my first time using it, so hopefully this works!

Oversized Sweaters

Outfit Details:
sweater - c/o French Connection
button up - thrifted
skort (can't believe I'm using that terminology again) - Zara
Cole Haan Anne Street Satchel (c/o)
Modern Vice Summer Jett (c/o)
Lookmatic glasses, MAC Russian Red lipstick.
Bobby and I are still in Florida; we're not yet sure exactly when we'll be back, but are aiming for this weekend. I really appreciate your patience while we are away and working through this difficult time. I'll be back to normal once we're in New York, but in the meantime I have a couple of older photo sets (and by older, I mean only a couple of weeks) to share. I wore this sweater to host the French Connection event and naturally, I got it in an oversized fit. If there's one thing I can't resist, it's a comfy, oversized sweater. Since we've been in Orlando, I've been wearing nothing but t-shirts and jeans (or shorts) - there's no need for any sweaters in this heat. And it looks like by the time we get back, my sweaters might be going back into boxes. Has Spring officially graced New York with its presence, yet?

My week, on instagram

My week, on instagram. Follow me at @keikolynn

I have some downtime in the hotel room, so I figured I would at least put together some instagrams from the past couple of weeks. Thanks for your patience and kind words, everyone. Bobby and I will be in Florida at least for the rest of this week, so things should get back to a normal schedule on here next week.

Top to bottom, left to right:
1) Just hanging out in my cat sweater, with my matching cat. (I got the sweater at LF but these two are both similar and similar)
  2) Kitty Boos has legs for days.
3) Vester requires a tidy bed, please and thank you.
4) Miku, in her Sunday best.
5) Always have, always will.
6) Celebrating Miss Ilona Royce-Smithkin's 93rd birthday with Shana, Kim, and Corey.
7) Speaking of Corey, her new line is so great!
8) Same patterns, different Corey pieces with Kim and Alicia.
9) My handsome boyfriend.
10) Kittens! \m/
11) What I wore to host the French Connection event with Elizabeth Monson.
12) From last week's Makeup Monday.
13) Nail art by Valley NYC (designed by Elizabeth Monson, inspired by the collection) at the French Connection event.
14) The cutest roommates in town, Christina and Bonnie.
15) I had lunch in the West Village with friends, on the most beautiful day. Wore my Juicy Couture trench - the lightest layers of the year, yet!
16) The prettiest brunch with Joie. Confession: I stole someone else's key from their place setting when it was over (and that someone else was Lindsey). Hey, I really liked the key and didn't want it to go to waste!
17) The coolest shoes from Modern Vice.
18) Chickens, hanging out at Bobby's house in Florida. They just showed up and decided to stay, I guess. Animals gravitate toward both of our families.
19) Heart shaped glasses. Wanderlust + Co bracelet, Sorrelli ring, Forever 21 sunglasses, China Glaze Aquadelic polish.

Bobby and I are currently in Florida, tending to some urgent family matters. I'm not sure when we will be back, yet - but while we are down here, my posts will probably be a little sporadic. Just wanted to give you all a heads up.

Blue Hill

Outfit Details:
BDG beanie - Urban Outfitters
coat - Zara (from 5 or so years ago)
floral dress - ASOS (inspired by the adorable Andi)
belt - thrifted
Cole Haan Anne Street Satchel (c/o)
Hunter Tour Boots (c/o)
sunglasses - Beacon's Closet
lipstick - MAC Russian Red

For Bobby's birthday, we made the short journey out to Blue Hill at Stone Barns for the ultimate farm-to-table experience. Before our dinner, which was both educational and very enjoyable, we explored the farm and had some hot chocolate and hot cider at their little cafe. It was such a wonderful way to spend Bobby's birthday, even if it was a little chilly! If you live in the city and are looking for a quick day trip, I highly recommend visiting the farm, especially once it warms up. While dinner at the Stone Barns should be reserved for special occasions - it's quite pricey - the grounds are open to the public Wednesday through Sunday (check hours and info here) and there's outdoor seating at the cafe that would be perfect for warmer weather.

Makeup Monday: Easy Cut Crease Tutorial

1)Dollipop (pink) and Tako (white) from the Sugarpill Sweetheart Palette, 2) Urban Decay Woodstock 24/7 pencil, 3) Urban Decay 24/7 liquid liner in Perversion (wearing MAC Pink Pigeon and MAC Forever Rose lipglass on the lips with a little bit of Tako in the center)

I promise I'll start doing more everyday looks for Makeup Monday, but since I do pretty "normal" makeup most days in my regular life, I can't help but have a little fun every now and then on the blog! I love a cut crease, and though I usually I use more shadows and steps to create the look, I decided to go with a really simplistic one, first. This will give you an idea of how to create the basic look and from there, you can experiment with different shadows, shapes, and products. Want to learn how to recreate this look? Keep reading after the jump for a quick step by step tutorial.
