Wavy Hair Tutorial (For Short Locks)

(click for larger image)

At long last, the wavy hair tutorial is here! I'm having fun playing around with different ways to style my new(ish) shorter hair, and this is one of my go-tos. The best part is that it's not supposed to be perfect, so it takes very little time from start to finish. This is a slightly photo heavy tutorial, so I'm going to put it behind the cut - please make sure you click through to see all the steps.

Get your tools ready (comb, curling iron, heat spray, hair spray), and continue reading after the cut for step by step instructions!

pssst! I also made a handy collage of the steps, if you want to reference it all in one place.

  8. Keiko, I reeeeeally appreciate this tutorial. Photography lovers know how long it takes to put all of this together (+ all the editing!), so kudos to you girl! Last year I got rid of 50% of my hair and went through the same thing haha!

Just a question: you cut it because you just wanted to change, or your hair was a bit damaged, both...? Anyway, looks pretty cool! xo

  31. I've always used a curling wand, but now that my hair is shorter, a curling wand is very dangerous to my fingers. Maybe I'll invest in a smaller iron.

  37. I'm wearing the exactly same length right now and I love curls. This is a really cute break from the iron flat edges. Love the easy step-by-step tutorial, especially the advice on direction of curls, that's most important.
What other heat protection sprays would you recommend?
