Makeup Monday: Sour Grapes (and a Giveaway!)




 
Eyes: Urban Decay Woodstock all over lid and lower lashline, Urban Decay Fishnet all over lid, Urban Decay Freakshow in crease (and blended outward), Urban Decay SWF on inner corners, MAC Petrol Blue liner on upper lashline and lower waterline.

Lips: MAC Magenta lipliner, Make Up For Ever aqua lip liner in 12C on outer corners, MAC Strong Woman (all over) and Firm Form (outer corners, blended inward) from the LE Strength collection.

Nails/rings: Candace ring and Barbie ring by besobeso by Luka, Estee Lauder Absinthe nail polish


The combination of this bright green nail polish and my new [favorite] purple ring made me think of Sour Grapes, a character from Strawberry Shortcake. I know they remade that cartoon but I'm not sure if they ever brought back the villainous lady and her pie-making companion. No matter, because the originals will always have my heart. That crazy woman rocked purple and green like no other, and to this day, the color combination brings me back. I created a look I thought a modern day Sour Grapes might enjoy - something just a tad sinister, but with some depth and dark beauty. What made you so sour, Sour Grapes?

  38. Strawberry Shortcake was my favorite thing as a kid, I had the sheets, the sew it yourself dolls, the canisters which I used to hold craft stuff...everything. And I just loved the designs for the characters, good and bad. So much inspiration for color and fun! You've pulled off Sour Grapes amazingly well, and I'm off to find that nail polish, it's fantastic!
