Weekend Scores: Black, not Drab

I teamed up with TJ Maxx to bring you a weekend of Fall fashion. I created some of my own looks based around some pieces I picked out at TJ Maxx (with the help of a gift card), and also snapped some friends and family members in their current ensembles.     This is outfit is what I wore during the second leg of our road trip, on a cold and dreary day. I like that the trench is black but has the feminine ruffle down the front - and my lipstick, bag, and floral umbrella keep it from being drab.




My friend Samara  also went the all black route (with a stripe of tan), and her outfit is anything but drab. I love how the subtle details - a bow belt, semi sheer stockings, and a rhinestone necklace - make the outfit. Can you believe that this girl thinks she isn't photogenic? I know I was supposed to focus on clothing, but after finding this heavily discounted, super cute trench and a pair of wide-legged Paige jeans from The Runway section (where they have all of the designer clothing) of the store near Columbus Circle, I headed to one of their stores in the suburbs and hit the jackpot in the home section. I got the cutest chevron throw, some new dog bowls for Miku, a ton of slim, velvety hangers for my closet, and this umbrella. Obviously, I also found my share of clothing, but you'll see more of my finds in the next post!
