peter pan collar shirt, pink polka dot sweater, and tights all c/o TJ Maxx gift card.
I didn't have a car for most of college, but I lived within walking distance of a shopping center with a TJ Maxx. I spent many a day wandering through the aisles and looking for bargains to take home, after a study session at the local Panera. Peppered with late nights and local shows, this pretty much sums up my antisocial college life outside of actual school. If you followed me back in the livejournal days, you might remember just how much of my clothing came from either TJ Maxx or a thrift store. I couldn't afford to shop much, but I still wanted to dress well. Both of those stores are great options, if you're on a budget. Case in point: I spent under $30 on this sweater, top, and tights - combined!
I'm still in Nashville, which means I've had time to spend with my cousins! My cousin Claudia
Thank you, TJ Maxx, for sponsoring this weekend of Fall fashion - and thank you to my friends and family for showing us what they're currently wearing! My weekend with TJ Maxx is over, but you can find more style inspiration on their pinterest.

So cute! I love how you put that outfit together for $30. I need to spend more time at TJ Maxx! :-)
ReplyDeleteAw, cute style runs in the family! I love your polka-dot top & I can't believe you basically got your entire outfit for less than $30! I love that your outfits don't always consists of pieces that are hundreds of dollars which is basically unrealistic for normal people to afford on a regular basis!!

Cute outfit! I love bargain, thrift, and vintage shopping because you're more likely to find unique items for cheaper prices. If I were to go out and buy more expensive clothes more often I would have less money and I would look like more people, so my preferences are really a win-win situation!
ReplyDeleteIf given the choice between going to a thrift store or going to a department store, I will ALWAYS choose a thrift store. I love thrifting!
Deletesoo cute! love the glasses!

Both these outfits are soooooo cute! Now I really need to get a peter pan collared top :P I do practically all my shopping at thrift stores ;) There's just something so fulfilling about scouting out fashionable articles that would otherwise be neglected and never rise to their full styling potential!......and getting a killer deal doesn't hurt much either ;D

ReplyDeleteLove the sweater.
ReplyDeletei love both styles and sweaters in you and your cousin's outfits! and tjmaxx has been one of my favorite places to go recently - so many great styles to pick from. :)
ReplyDeletei was a huge tjmaxx shopper through out college because i couldn't afford to go anywhere else! and now i'm a huge fan of the hugely discounted expensive stuff there (it's my go to for helmut lang). :)

Me too! I love Helmut Lang jackets but can't afford full price. I've found two at TJ Maxx, and two at outlet centers. They were over 75% off!
DeleteYou look so chic and cute!
ReplyDeleteLove your jumper!
And your cousin looks cute too xx

P.S. Liked this post on Bloglovin ;)
i have a two-mile commute to and from work, and within that two miles is the best tj maxx ever... it is shacked up in a less than desirable, sort of sleazy and skeevy shopping center, but is stocked for a very wealthy, and chic demographic... win!
ReplyDeleteyou and your cousin look adorable, and i love how, despite the similarities in styling, how different you each look in terms of tone and personality.

Love the lace part on the bottom, couldn't figured out if it's skirt or shorts or just part of the shirt :P
ReplyDeleteBtw, what lipstick are you wearing in this look? I would really like to have it for myself. thanks!
My college was in a very upscale suburb of Boston, so the TJ Maxx and Filene's Basements were like my go-to places to have Me Time. There's just something to be said for the thrill of the hunt. I will never understand anyone who says they don't love shopping. I think they just aren't going to the right places!
