I've been itching to get a new tattoo, but since it's something forever on my body, the process of choosing the art is not something I take lightly. I do have a pretty crappy tattoo from the day I turned 18; it was something my mom and I did together, so I don't regret it. But I did learn a couple of things: 1) maybe you shouldn't get tattooed when you're still a teenager, because you'll get something like "she wakes up lonely" tattooed on your back and 2) the tattoo artist is extremely important. I got my rib piece about six years ago and I still love it. It rarely sees the light of day, but I like that when I'm wearing something a little sheer or with cutouts, it peeks through. It's a colorful extension of me.
i have a few tattoos on my arms (5, actually, weird) - and one on my rib cage, as well. but by far the most surprising one is the huge piece i have on my left thigh. whenever it peaks out from the bottom hem of a skirt or dress, i'm immediately interrogated. i've also been itching for a new piece, but i generally spend about a year or two marinating on an idea. it's such a process!!
I love your rib piece, Keiko! I don't have any tattoos though I think if I had something special/meaningful in mind, I would consider it. Love this look too! The flower crown is so pretty.
These pictures are gorgeous. I love the light in them! And your flower crown is so beautiful! I've always loved the look of tattoos, but I know that if I got something that permanent, it would have to be incredibly special because I'm too indecisive for permanent ink. :)
Could not agree more about the importance of taking your time with tattoos. I really want a rib piece but until I decide what I want for sure, it's a no-go!
love this so much! your tat peeking through is fierce. i love to see just a slice sometimes..so interesting! perfect dress. i'm 26 and still dreaming up my first tattoo, i change my mind so often! going for timeless.
Love the dress here! And I very much agree on the tattoos. I've got one from when I left my first boyfriend (he hated tattoos, so that was the first thing I got when I was single)... I don't regret it (two very small bows near my hip bones), but I do wish I would have chosen it more wisely. The second one is a pair of tailor's scissors on my left wrist. That was pretty spontaneous too, but I really love it and I studied fashion design, so tailoring will always be a part of me. I want to get one the ribs exactly where yours is, and I already know what it will be, but I still need to draw it and then rework it about a thousand times, think about it longer and if I still want it then, I'll get it. It's gonna be a big one, so I'll have to be very sure.
I just went and take a look at your tattoo post. Your tattoo is incredibly beautiful! I really like the placement too, because it's so subtle en not 'in your face'. I am 20 years old now and I really really want a tattoo, I did a post on what kind of tattoos I liked a couple of weeks ago but I really want to think this through too !
Also, it's my first tattoo ever and I'm afraid of needles, ha ha ha. So I will have to seriously get over that first.
i'm going to make a tattoo very soon too, a tattoo of my mouth and it's unique M shape in my shoulder... your outfit tody is very romentic, it made you look very diferent!!
Oh gosh, you are too funny girl! I love that you can look back at your tattoos (good or bad) with fond memories. Your rib tattoo is just beautiful! Can't wait to see what you choose next ;) xo TJ
I love the look of peeking tattoos as well. I'm still deciding what to get for my first tattoo... it's been over three years since I first wanted one. It's just so hard to decide!
You are so talented when it comes to the perfect mix of feminine meets edgy. I love the delicate dress paired with the funky tights and booties. The flower crown is a nice touch too! Since I've started seeing them pop up this fall, I 've really wanted to try rockin' a flower crown, but I'm just afraid it would look ridiculous on me. It look oh so fabulous on you though! :)
I bet the text tattoo on your back could be easily covered up! I love the rib piece peeks out here. My favorite is when I wear something sheer and you can see my tats through the fabric :)
Love your dress! I have two tattoos and I'm always thinking about another one!!

Very thoughtful about the tattoos. I'm always surprised when people get tatooed on the fly.
