I know these boots aren't for everyone, but they make the 90s child in me happy. 90s me would be very disappointed that I never succeeded in marrying Leonardo DiCaprio despite the love letter I wrote to him that clearly articulated why we were perfect for one another. Sure, I was only 12 and he was 22 but for some reason, that doesn't seem creepy when you're a child and watching Romeo + Juliet every possible moment. I would soon continue that obsession with Titanic, so you can only imagine how excited I am about the re-release in IMAX. When I say obsessed, you probably think I watched it a handful of times and maybe had a shrine to Leo on my wall. The latter part is true, but I also watched it a lot more than a handful of times and collected everything Titanic related that I could find. I was already borderline obsessed with the history (even letting my aunt convince me that perhaps I was reincarnated) before the movie, but then they threw Leo in the mix and I went into that teenage hysteria everyone loves to hate. I even made my family go to the Titanic Exhibit on our trip to Tampa...instead of an amusement park. My sisters were less than thrilled.
In short, you might want to let me wear these boots to appease my weirdo 90s, infatuated-with-everything-Leonardo-DiCaprio-does self, because if I don't have something to latch onto, I might just get weirder and weirder and I don't have enough room for a new Leonardo shrine.

p.s. I recently came across my Heart Of the Ocean necklace that came in a Titanic jewelry box (we have only scratched the surface, my friends) and you better believe I will be wearing that thing to see the movie.

wow, this outfit is eye popping brilliant! Love this floral & fuchsia combo!

I also had a Leo shrine, with a face like that whats a young girl to do?
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. I love this outfit and your Titanic obsession. Let's just say I also have a heart of the ocean necklace in my jewelry box, and probably stacks of old posters with Leo's face in hiding. Cheers to Titanic and cute outfits!
ReplyDeleteNot usually a fan of pink paired with red, but this outfit is so cute.
ReplyDeleteI never got obsessed with Titanic (though I continue to defend it as an entertaining, engrossing movie to its detractors...), but I was obsessed with *sparklies* (still am).
For my 8th grade graduation, my parents got me the Heart of the Ocean replica necklace from J. Peterman (not my site -- it's hard finding a good photo online...). Still have it, but is rather difficult to style for everyday wear. ;)
My sister used to make me watch Titanic over and over, and she would always tell me that she was convinced that at some point, the ending was going to be different.
ReplyDeleteBut yes, those shoes make the 90s kid in me very happy too.

:D ahahaha this is my favorite post of all time!
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is so cute and those boots remind me of those popular Chloe ones from a few years back. I'm excited about Titanic's re-release too though I definitely wasn't all up in the hysteria like you ;) I did go see the Titanic Exhibit over Christmas though and I loved it!

Hahaha! What a hilarious post! I loved titanic too. Have fun at the cinema re-watching it.

Your boots rock and so does your obsession with Leo. I've also had a thing for him in Romeo+Juliet (I blasted the soundtrack for a while) and I still watch Titanic every time it comes on TV :P Once you find the perfect thing (or person), why should you throw it to the side?? (it would be awesome if he read this post and asked you out for coffee)

Love it! I may or may not be best friends with my best friend because we both had our Five Star binders AND dividers completely covered in Leo pictures in 6th grade. As a fellow 90s child and Leo Lover, I totally understand.
ReplyDeleteOH MY I am so excited about Titanic being re-released! Love this outfit! I'm also having a bit of a 90s moment, I bought jelly shoes and tie-dye pink jeans!

At least I'd rather be into the '90s rather than constant brown-nosing of the '80s. I'd definitely appreciate these shoes. I am not normally into lace-up boots. However, these Jeffrey Campbell platform wedge boots are every bit as stylish and trendy from him as the "Lita" boots. As for the rest of this outfit, you look amazing (as usual). Lovely bold colors with such a lovely outfit.

You always look so good and this outfit is so much fun!!
ReplyDeletejeffrey campbell makes so many shoes i would love to own...bah.
ReplyDeleteyou are the cutest!
I so love this pink jacket and think it just makes this outfit come alive!! You look so good in bright colors pretty lady. xoxo Kim www.eatsleepwear.com
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, you and I are soul sisters! I was the very same way with my Leo obsession - I collected pictures of him, watched his movies a million times. Obsessed! I can't wait to drag my fiance to see Titanic again in IMAX :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I also love that lipstick. I'll have to try it!
Hahah, oh my gosh, were we the same person?? I was the exact same way. It started with Leo, but then I became completely obsessed with the entire history of Titanic and rented all of these books and documentaries on it. It was ridiculous!!
ReplyDeleteEarly 90s late 80s fashion is really coming back around huh? The Doc Marten boots + a few inches seem to be everywhere! Couldn't pull it off then, doubt I could do it now. But the re-release of Titanic (or better yet, R+J) is awesome! I could watch Leo's R+J anytime. Love!

P.S. Love the floral dress!
One more crazy obsessed with Titanic over here!! :)
ReplyDeleteLove your outfit and the choice of colors!!

I'm obsessed with Leo too! At his prime in Romeo and Juliet, it makes me cry everytime!
ReplyDeleteshuuuuuuuuuut up. my boyfriend was at my parents with me last weekend and he noticed my titanic music box. he opened it up and stared at me with bemusement as he pulled the necklace out. he also made us listen to the music...
ReplyDeleteOmigod. I only saw that movie for the first time this year (can you believe it??? my DEPRIVED childhood!!!) and I am already obsessed. The first time I saw it I hated it. The romantic in me couldn't believe that Jack died. COMEON. there was SO enough room on that floating wood she was laying on. The second time I cried again but was glad to see it. The third and fourth times I picked up on little details I hadn't before that made me squeal with delight. By the 13th time (yes, all in 2012!) I sing the song from start to finish, I still cry, and I can't wait to see it again...especially in Imax!! Leonardo DiCaprio is one hot piece of () that I would give anything to marry. Considering I'm 16 now and who knows how old he is (he's also significantly less hot), I think I'll live out that dream through my frequent viewings of the movie. He is beautiful, kind, sweet, and everything I'd want in a boy!!! Here's to hoping someone like him comes around for me eventually :) And here's to hoping we don't EVER go on a boat ride.
ReplyDeleteI'm clearly already obsessed with Titanic. And I'd love to hear more about your Leo Shrine (with pictures, please) so that I may possibly go about building my own. Sorrry for such a long comment but I can't hold back my love for Leo (or more realistically, Jack). Loved reading your post today SOOSOSOSOOSO much Keiko! <3

ReplyDeleteAlso wow have to say I find it impressive that you can always seem so comfortable in heels! I'm dying by the first couple hours when I go out and about in them, lol. :) How do you manage?
You look like a flower (in the very best way possible!). You remind me of blooms and springtime gardens.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I totally would have been at that exhibit with you. True, more because we had an all-year-long Titanic unit in 4th grade, but.... it sounded cool!
Loving the colors today!!! Have a great night honey! Kori xoxo

I was overhearing some kids talking the other day and they were describing hippies from the 90's...I think they meant the 70's, but it got me to thinking back those days...the good 'ole days? There was so interesting fashion, that's for sure, but never sure how to define it, not exclusively grunge...a bit more.
ReplyDeletehahah. That's awesome. All I think of when I hear Leonardo's name is my dad singing "Leonardo DiCaprio!" to the tune of Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture.
ReplyDeletehttp://therichstyle.com
As soon as I saw those boots I though, "90s!!!"
ReplyDeleteSo, of course, I LOVE THEM!
I love this post! Leo is definitely crush-worthy. I am planning on seeing the movie with my friend when it comes out too even though I already own it on dvd and vhs and saw it in theatres about 10 times when it first came out. 3D is different though! haha Please post photos of you wearing the necklace! :)
