Outfit Details:
Helmut Lang Blazer - outlet (I got it for over 75% off!)
Porter Grey blouse - borrowed
flower print trousers - Zara
Sam Edelman Roza spiked heels - LF sale (also on sale at Zappos)
hat - H+M
Rebecca Minkoff Quilted Swing - Confederacy
lipstick - Bobbi Brown Rose (it looks a little lighter here because it's layered over a nude Laura Mercier color I was wearing earlier)
I ended up going shopping for pants, the second most dreaded shopping trip (the first one being for bathing suits) in my opinion. I came out victorious, with a couple of purchases - these from Zara, and a pair for $20 at Anthropologie. Honestly, I hate trying on pants. Anything that fits my hips/butt/thighs has a huge gap in the waistband and anything that fits in the waist flattens out everything else. I hope these purchases - as well as the new jeans I added to my wardrobe - will hold me over for a good, long while. As for bathing suit shopping, I've had this retro-style one piece in my drawer for quite some time, now - and it has served me well on the very few occasions I have had to wear it. Biggest plus? I didn't even have to try it on before I bought it. Online shopping, you have the most flattering lighting.

So cool. Amazing.
ReplyDeleteKeiko, you're the best. :)

I also think shopping for pants is like the ultimate dreaded shopping trip. But then again, I'm not a fan of shopping trips. More of a online shopper.

This is a great look! Even though the colors are pretty subdued, the whole thing is really interesting - I especially love the asymmetrical blazer and the spiked heels!
ReplyDeleteThese are the first pants to come out of the floral pants trend that I love! They are a muted palette and pattern that they will work beyond just the latest trend.
ReplyDeleteThe Helmut Lang blazer is to die for!
I think that you are just fabulous. Reading your blog has made me more creative with my make up and playful with my clothes. I love it. And today's post makes me feel a little better, because I also seriously avoid shopping for pants. It's nice to remember we all have our little hang-ups and are still fabulous despite them. Xo!
ReplyDeleteI love pants on you! You should wear them more they look so cute on your figure!
ReplyDeletei love this soft look!
ReplyDeleteyou look so pretty.. and like i always say, you´re rocking that hat!

I agree with you on the pants shopping thing. I avoid it at all cost, even if that means wearing leggings as pants all the time.

I love this outfit on you Keiko! In fact, I can imagine myself wearing all of it! But I feel your pain on the pants front. It's definitely no fun. But I think this floral pair looks so cute on you!
ReplyDeletexx Vivian @ http://diamondsandtulle.blogspot.com
Hi Keiko, I have the same problem as you! Everything fits my thigh and butt is way too big around my waist. Sigh, some styles just don't think about women with some meat T_T
ReplyDeleteHowever I must say, these pants look really beautiful on you! I wish we had a Zara here!
Oh I love the pants! And how you kept it classic with the rest of the outfit. And the shoes are must have!

absolutely lusting over this outfit!
ReplyDeleteI hate pants shopping too! The worst time it happened was once, when I was at Pac Sun and attended by a very cute male employee. I had lost a few pounds and wanted to reward myself with new jeans, but had just moved here and wasn't sure about American sizes, so I asked him to give me what he approximately thought was my size. The pants got stuck at my thighs, and I had to ask him for the next size up. He goes: "You're not a size 6? I can't believe it!" I wished I could disappear in a hole at that moment!

I love the femininity of this outfit contrast with the spiked heels and hat. And we have the same bathing suit it looks like :) I got it at Mod Cloth as well.

I'm so glad to know that some other women have the same problem with pants. I'm just like you - they are the 2nd worst thing to try on. I don't understand why designers can't find a way to make pants without the big gap in the waistband. It's forcing me to figure out how to make my own pants.
ReplyDeleteYou look great in these photos. And what great deals you got! Inspiring.
That is one of the coolest flower print combos I have seen! Hope you dont mind if i post it on my tumblr! S.

ReplyDeleteUrgh, me too! I hate buying pants! You need to take your pants of, put on the ones you want to try, and put your original pants on again... We share the same burdens... But I love your buy this time! Love how the floral prints plays along with the studded heels... :)

ReplyDeletei like your blazer and pumps, such great combination! i love your blog! :D
ReplyDeleteHi! I've tried on the Lorissa - which is the peep toe version of the shoe you're wearing but found them to be really stiff and uncomfortable. The ones you have on look comfy? Also, are they somewhat narrow?
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
