Tradewinds

Outfit Details:
80s/90s? pink crochet cardigan - gift from Tessa Marie:)
dress - Free People
tights - H+M
vintage horse purse - Old Made Good
Seychelles Stockholm boots - c/o Seychelles
bracelets - Betsey Johnson and vintage
Rebecca Minkoff for Baby G watch - c/o Rebecca Minkoff
nail polish - China Glaze in Celtic Sun

In just a couple of weeks, I'll be back in Florida to throw a baby shower for my best friend, Lauren. Kim and I went to Tradewinds Park to scout a location for the outdoor gathering, and came across the perfect spot near lots of trees, a pond and a cute little bridge. I can't believe I'm at the age where my friends are starting to have babies and get married and, you know, be real deal adults. But furthermore, I cannot wait to meet little Connor. I bet he'll be good friends with my little nephew Ryder!

p.s. If you have any baby shower tips, please let me know!

for my sister's baby shower, we just had a brunch with her close friends and opened presents. it was intimate and charming, and we all were overjoyed.

Conner is the name of my younger son! It is a great name! ;-)

I usually don't comment on your blog (though I read it all the time) because I know you get 1545 comments, but I had to comment this time. For one, for the name and for two, I adore your crocheted cardigan! It is perfect against your edgy boots. Love this look on you!

Ahh, a favorite type of outfit, a perfect mix of dressy + casual = awesome comfort. I adore the vintage purse because it (clearly) has so much character.
The baby shower sounds so lovely and frankly like a scene from a classic novel. =)

That bag is killer! My best baby shower advice is to remember the person that you are throwing the shower for and try to tailor it to her favorites (food, colors, aesthetics, etc...). Most importantly, have fun and gift your friend with your time and a thoughtful present that she will use again and again. Remember, babies grow very quickly, so a hand knit blanket or a photo book of images from her pregnancy are great ideas and will be just as valuable 5 years from now.

Deirdre
