soft glow

Outfit Details:
Evening Sleigh Ride Dress - c/o ModCloth
tights - H+M
heels - Nine West
Rebecca Minkoff Covet bag - c/o Rebecca Minkoff
lipstick - MAC Russian Red

I just got back to New York, and I'm leaving for LA on Wednesday. It always feels like my Florida trips fly by, but at least I'll be back in early February to throw my best friend Lauren's baby shower!

The next few posts might look like they were taken from an 80s Lifetime movie, due to the soft glow action. It's not intentional - my brand new lens is broken and I didn't have any others with me. I'm happy to know that at the very least, it was the lens and not the body of the camera. Still, doesn't it seem like every time I'm in Florida, I end up breaking something?  My sewing machine, serger, camera, laptop, lens, phone, hand...all of these things were broken on Florida trips. I also got my sister's truck stuck in the mud, once. I really think I'm a walking disaster.

Apologies for the radio silence - between the holidays and spending time with my family, I've been a little preoccupied. I'll catch up this week, but in the meantime, you can follow me on instagram (username keikolynn) or twitter. I've been posting pictures like crazy!

holiday spirit

Outfit Details:
plaid cape - LOFT, borrowed from Samara
sweater - c/o Corey Lynn Calter
shorts - LuLus (last year)
scarf - Gap
tights - HUE
Romance boots - c/o Seychelles
Foley + Corinna boxy tote - c/o Foley + Corinna
vintage glasses - Guvnor's Vintage in Park Slope

I'm currently wearing a lightweight button down shirt and jeans, so these photos seem like they were taken ages ago. In reality, they are from late last week. I think I adjusted to this Florida weather pretty quickly. At 78 degrees and sunny, who wouldn't?

That being said, there's nothing like NYC during the holidays. Without it, I don't know if I could get into the Christmas spirit quite as much. Where are you spending your holiday?

Makeup Monday: Gilded Eye

What I used: 1) Urban Decay Primer Potion, 2) Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream in #11, 3) Urban Decay Black Palette (I used Cobra, the black shadow with gold flecks, and the Zero pencil), 4) Urban Decay Naked2 Palette (I used Bootycall to highlight), 5) Almay One Coat Mascara, 6) MAC Pro Longwear Lipcreme in Love Forever!
(If you need alternative product suggestions, ask me on twitter!)

I bought this gold Aqua Cream months ago, but I only rediscovered it the other day. It somehow got lost in the sea of makeup that consumes my life (I really should find a better way to organize); I end up going back to the same products over and over because I forget about everything else I have. After using this aqua cream again, I doubt I'll forget it again. Whether alone or paired with gold-flecked dark shadow for a metallic smokey eye, this intense, beautiful gold is perfect for a statement eye.

Kim from Eat.Sleep.Wear. was in town to help me with the blogger garage sale for Women In Need (more on that, later!), so I asked her to be my lovely model for this look.  Thank you, Kim!

Want to know how to recreate this look? Continue reading after the jump for step by step instructions.

hello, from the sunshine state

Just dropping by to say hello! I have a great Makeup Monday to share with you, but I will be posting tomorrow, since we're currently celebrating my cousin's birthday. I just arrived in Florida today - just in time to escape the frigid weather and get a little bit of sunshine.

Stay warm, everyone!

Update/Reminder: Holiday Blogger Garage Sale for Women In Need

Just a friendly reminder to stop by Arrojo this Sunday, for our Blogger Garage Sale! We'll be selling new, vintage, and gently used clothing/accessories/handbags/shoes from our own personal closets and our generous donors.

In addition to the sale, we're raffling off some of our designer-donated items and gift certificates. We'll also be having some amazing giveaways (shoes! bags! makeup!) as a thank you for spreading the word about Women In Need, who will be receiving 100% of the funds made on Sunday.

We're asking attendees to make a [suggested] $5 donation or bring an unwrapped toy for entry, but even if you can't afford to donate, that's okay! We would still love for you to drop by and show your support.

p.s. New donations are still coming in (full donor list coming soon), and we're happy to accept more if your business wants to contribute - you can even drop it off at the sale.
p.p.s. Can't attend the sale? You can donate directly to Women In Need.

Did you know I still have a bunch of Nashville photos to post? Kim was ready to cut off my fingers if I didn't post some of the photos, so here are some more from our lovely little trip. It's making me want to go back! I packed with Florida in mind (for the most part), so I didn't have a ton of really warm clothing - and I ended up doubling up my tights AND wearing a pair of socks on this particularly chilly day. My legs looked and felt like stuffed sausages. I might have lost circulation but my legs were warm (or numb).
