Contrary to what the product placement suggests, this post is not sponsored by Starbucks. My fall and winter, however, might as well be – I use hot coffee and tea as hand (and stomach) warmers. My favorite part is seeing how they spell my name; I rarely offer the correct spelling, because it’s more fun that way. When I was a kid, I used to get annoyed at people who constantly mispronounced my name, but now that I’m an older and more patient adult (this is actually a total lie), I don’t mind. People call me Keeko, Cocoa, Kiko (pronounce kEYEko), sometimes even Kayla. I don’t even notice, anymore. If you have an unusual name – and I know it’s common in Japan, but not the in the states – you have to expect it. For the record, it’s Keiko and it’s pronounced Cake-oh. But you can call me Keeko, if you want. I can’t hear you through your computer, anyway.

Just don’t do it in front of my mom. She might cut you.
