I'm frequently asked how my beauty routine changed when I started wearing glasses, but the truth is, it hasn't. The amount of requests for "eye makeup you can wear with glasses" made me wonder if I was doing something wrong by not changing up my eye makeup. Truly, I just do my eye makeup and then put my glasses on...simple as that! The only thing I change when I wear glasses is the height of the color - I usually keep it only on the lid, not too far above the crease. But do away with color? Absolutely not! Who says you can't wear color and glasses at the same time? Certainly not this girl.
I like this pairing of bold eyes and lips because they're in the same color family, which makes it less distracting. It also takes about five minutes from start to finish, and can be done in the back of a cab. Hey, if I can put on liquid liner in a moving vehicle, you can pat a little eyeshadow on your lids and blend. I have faith in you! But really, it might be less stressful if you try this at home and not in the back of a cab. I only suggested it to emphasize how easy this look is. Look ma, no hands!

Revlon Berry Haute (purchased in store at CVS), Milani Runway Eyes in Purples, Milani Minerals Blush, Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara, Almay eyeliner in Purple Amethyst. Note: I am a paid member of the CVS/Pharmacy Beauty Club Beauty Board.

I love that lipstick on you! I'll be on the lookout for it next time I'm at a drugstore. Lovely FOTD.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I actually went and bought a backup, just in case it gets discontinued. I've been wearing it quite a bit!
ReplyDeleteI love this look, it's so pretty and you make it so simple to do!
ReplyDeleteThis is great! I love Milani, they always pleasantly surprise me :) I love the purple eyes and pink lips! I just love you <3

ReplyDeleteI think that once you've mastered eyeliner in the back of a cab, anything is possible. Reminds me of that scene in Princess Diaries with the tights!
ReplyDeleteAnyhow, this color is really lovely. Tell me, have you tried Infallible Le Rouge lipstick? (Gwen Stephani is in the commercial for it) It's pretty much the only lipstick I've found to stay put without lipliner or anything. It's a bit drying on the inside of the lips, though it's otherwise amazing.
This is a really poor photo, but one of the best of the lipstick color:

:) Happy Halloween!
I love the purple eyeshadow look! That pink
ReplyDeleteLipstick is pretty too!
without the glasses!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for this post! I've been wearing my glasses a lot and always feel like you can't really "see" my makeup behind the glasses, but obviously I'm wrong. :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, today was the first day I used my MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study and I'm happy and excited to report it works like a dream! No more creased eyeshadow or black eyeliner smears! So thanks also for recommending it.
I wear glasses about 90% of the time and contacts, 10%. I do my makeup all the time. Dramatic, smokey, soft, natural...and like you said, I put my glasses on. I didn't know you had to your makeup differently. Hmmm. I wonder if people do?
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not the only one who changes her makeup when she wears glasses :) Really pretty makeup!

Hi Keiko,
ReplyDeleteI wear glasses but I'm more used to take them off when I get out my car. So i'm definitely not changing my make up for that :) I never thought about that even if i want to wear my glasses all day long (i sometimes have to).
I want to thank you for your wonderful posts all the time. I LOVE them! You've a great way of dressing yourself and i love your make up. Since i follow your blog i'm buying clothes and wonder how you would wear them :) (not all the time, but i do). It helps me to think if i'm really into a certain clothing item or not. And i bought pink lipstick! I'm sooooo loving it!! I wonder why i didn;t bought it before because my glasses are pink too so you can imagine how great they match :D its really amazing!
My problem with wearing glasses and makeup together is that dust from the shadow or my mascara just kind of gather on my lenses and i have to clean them a million times more a day. I usually just go for a simple liner and lighter mascara. I hope that changes soon though, because I'm looking into LASIK!

great lipstick! <3
ReplyDeleteperfect, thank you, it is just what I need - glasses or no glasses :)
ReplyDeleteI always thought that the amount of tutorials on YouTube on "makeup for glasses" was a bit strange - surely it doesn't make that much difference? Because glasses are see-through! Great tutorial though, I love the colour combination!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the beauty tips
ReplyDeleteI wear glasses too and not so good in make up
this tips will help me much.
thank you, Keiko :)

I totally agree, I've been wearing glasses since I was 16, I can only wear contacts occasionally, so I do my makeup the way I want, glasses or not!
ReplyDeleteThis may be easy, but I promise mine just never comes out as good! However, I've been wanting lipstick that color, and you have just saved me the trouble of standing in the drugstore with 85 tubes in my hands unable to make a decision!

Helps when you and your glasses are gorgeous :-) I seriously am motivated to purchase a new pair, I love the shape of yours! I find if I wear too much eye make-up when I wear my glasses it's not attractive. But mine are a seriously dark pair. Now I want tortoiseshell ones! And in exactly that cat's eye shape...

Beautiful FOTD, the lipstick is amazing! ♥
ReplyDeleteYou always amaze me with your make-up looks. I'm forced to wear my glasses now (I need to before I have my laser eye surgery very soon), and I've been wondering how I should do my make-up since it's normally light. I went a bit heavier on the shadow and for once put liner on the top and bottom. I love the end result and don't feel so self-concious in my glasses.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tutorial, that's an eye shadow color with suits me pretty well, I'll try it.
ReplyDeletemy name is september which is a really common word that everyone should remember easily
ReplyDeletebut i'm usually called one of the other 11 months

Def loving that eyeliner!! I might just have to go get it too... and you're definitely inspiring me to try out some lipstick... I always just use chapstick and gloss. I went to MAC to try to find a good color for me but walked away empty-handed...I'm thinking I should give Revlon a try! Your lips are seriously perfection!!
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree with you! My makeup stays the same whether I'm wearing my glasses or not. I absolutely love your blog! Your makeup tutorials are great! ♥
