I originally bought a bolt of this fabric for completely different intentions, but it sat in my office so long that I forgot what those intentions were. Instead, I made a short-sleeve blanket sweater for layering. I made it in three colors: red, as seen here, grey and white plaid and an oatmeal pattern. I have a mild allergy to wool but my neck must have developed some sort of tolerance, because this didn't seem to bother me. Believe me when I say that no one is more anxious than I am to get my site back up; we had some setbacks that delayed the relaunch quite a bit but everything seems to be back on track! I'm setting up a photo shoot with a lovely friend of mine and a photographer I've worked with before; I'm pretty excited about that.
As for this little sweater - I've decided to make them to order, since they take up quite a bit of room on the rack and it's already full. I'm thinking of doing a pre-sale on these (still have to photograph the other two options) and a few one of a kinds I have on hand, if there's any interest. What do you think?

Totally interested in the blanket sweater! Provided it fits my budget :)

Oh Keiko, you're too beautiful. Love this look so much. It seems like so many of the blogs I follow are California girls, it's nice to see inspiration for warm-but-stylish fall clothes from someone else who lives in a place where seasons change. I need to find myself some more east coast bloggers to follow!

ReplyDelete...and so strange...I was sketching something very very similar last week...but alas I have no talents with the sewing machine, so I was thinking I'd have to go hunting at goodwill (and then find a good tailor). Thank goodness...Keiko saves the day! I would love to order these in many colors! So excited for you to post these :)
Hi Keiko,
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit! I LOVE the sheer dotted top with the necklace. Plus, the blanket sweater is such an expected pairing! The nails are the perfect finish (and a little vampire-like for Halloween!) I would have swapped the denim shorts with a gray or black pencil skirt for an office outfit. Thanks for sharing this outfit!!
