Outfit Details:
dress - c/o Silvio Liu
net top (I cut off the sleeves) - Wet Seal
Seychelles Mother of Pearl - c/o Seychelles
When I was in high school, I was cast as the narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Upon entering the musical theatre program at my university, I saw a guy wearing a cast shirt from another Joseph production. Since I felt a little out of place and everyone else seemed to somehow already know one another, I used it as an icebreaker. "Oh cool, your school did Joseph, too?" His reply? A scoff and an eye-roll followed by, "I am Joseph."
We never did become friends, and I am no longer in musical theatre (unrelated to that incident). To be fair, that was a pretty lame attempt at breaking the ice; I never was very good at social introductions. Whose school didn't do that show?
This dress just reminds me of the technicolor dreamcoat, which is why I recalled this very random story. My very own technicolor

so cute and lovely)

hahah great story! oh gosh, don't you just despise awkward moments like that? first impression....whoops. yeah, but um...my school never did the Joseph musical, but I did know a bunch of schools who did so. i think my director never bothered because it was so overdone. haha i got to do musicals for all four years in high school, and my favorite was Hello, Dolly! Totally fun.
ReplyDeleteanyways, LOVE the colors in this look. :) and high five to red glasses. red frames unite!

That guy sounds like a jerk! Your outfit is the jam, though. I love the addition of the net top, and the yellow clutch! So cute.
ReplyDeleteWhat a jerk! I did musical theatre in high school - it was awesome and I miss it. But that's beside the point. Your dress looks so cool layered over the mesh top. Such a creative idea. I love how colorful the top of your dress is too.
