California Dreamin'

Outfit Details:
gauzy vintage blouse - Brooklyn Flea
vintage silk scarf - my mom's shop, Hourglass Consignment
Era Sunglasses - c/o Juicy Couture (not on the site anymore:( )
rose bracelet - vintage, from Hourglass (very similar one here)
ring - also from Hourglass
shorts - H&M
Seychelles Platinum Boots - c/o ModCloth
vintage wicker bag - gift from Dawn, my mom's bff (tons of cute ones on Etsy, here)
lipstick - Make Up For Ever #30

I think this was probably the last of those beautiful in between days; it was windy and slightly overcast, warm enough for shorts and chilly enough in the afternoon to merit one last time for boots. I know a lot of people itch for the day they can reach for their flip-flops, but my feet are hideous and my legs are super blotchy. Give me boots over sandals any day. Except, you know, today. Because it's hot as all get-out and I'd be happier in my skivvies and bare feet. Instead, I have to go and put on a dress and heels and pretend to be a proper lady for a few hours. Boo/hiss!

  2. The blouse is gorgeous, I immediately thought of Jen's Pirate Booty - I borrowed a dress from a friend once that was by her, and was so similar to this!

  4. Hee hee, your post made me smile.
I'm a boots girl myself. I actually used to wear snowboarding boots. Year round. Full on in the summer and all. I'm a bit past that wackiness but I still prefer more shoe to less shoe.

Also, as a fair skinned gal, I understand the whole blotchy leg - summer thing. I used to tan too much for words, now I am embracing my natural skin. Nice to see to see others like your stylish self doing the same. :)

  83. I owned that shirt, or something exactly like that, about 8 years ago. I went to Mexico and in the zocolo they sold all sorts of beautiful handmade clothing. That was my favorite top for so long, I have no idea what happened to it...

  84. Keiko ok you scared me with this post but not because you look beautiful but because I just posted that same bag and when I read that it was from Dawn, I thought, WHAT? Did I send that bag to you unknowingly? One of my most favorite go to bags and you styled it just right!! Dawn xo

  87. This is sooo pretty! Your hair & the scarf are seriously amazing, I'm completely swooning over it & wishing I could pull this off! I'm with you in the ugly-feet-club, I feel like there are so many sandals I "can't" buy because they show too much of my ugly feet. (Wow, this was a pretty self depreciating comment, no?) - annnnyway, this is all to say you look positively dreamy here! Love this look on you!

  93. Where did you get that blouse? I love it so much! I think that your outfit in general is really cute and great. I think that your other outfits are also really well put together.

    ReplyDelete
  94. This is one of my favorites! It might be on the top actually. A breezy, carefree look yet put together and really chic at the same time. Plus I just love the general vibe of it. You look beautiful.

Second Anonymous on the hair+scarf tutorial. Is that an up and coming trend or are you just recycling the look? My guess is if it's the latter, the former might eventually get spawned if you keep sporting it.
