Bond Street

madison leather satchel - c/o Coach (from last year; no longer available)
glasses - Ray-Ban
lip color - Laura Mercier lip stain in Hibiscus
Bobby's outfit: a t-shirt, lots of tattoos.

Now that Bobby is only working one job (woohoo!), we have a lot more time together. Lately, we've been hunting for an antique sofa, with no success. I guess I'm used to actually being able to afford the kind of furniture I like, since Florida has an abundance of antiques and less demand for them. Plus, I have that nifty daughter discount at my mom's store, which is where I have gotten most of my antique and vintage furniture in the past. New York, on the other hand - they know what they're worth and they know they can get what they're asking. I have a select handful of shops that I frequent and I often pick up pieces from the Brooklyn Flea, but sofas are harder to come by. If you have any tips on where to look (in or around New York), I would love to hear them!

  11. The Fancy Teacup: I actually haven't gone to any real estate sales since I moved here; I automatically assumed they wouldn't be in my range. I guess I should just check a couple out. In Florida, with all of the senior citizen communities, they're easy to come by.

    As for the sofa, no clue but what about buying something from a close neighboring state? Or maybe you have a follower who is making a move from FL to NY that can bring over something from your Mom's store?

  17. My boyfriend found a really great antique sofa on Craigslist in this area. Maybe that would be a good place to start, you never know what you can find there. P.S. I love your belt!

  21. a more economical, and potentially adventurous and fun, option would be to rent a truck (if you do not have a car in the city), and journey into PA. adamstown is a vintage, antique, collectibles mecca, and you could glean through a variety of options, with much more wallet friendly prices. you should make a day trip out of it, and pick up a few things! from nyc, it is maybe a 3 hour drive.

  38. sooo true about vintage in new york. but now that i have been in san fran for a bit and have checked out some fleas... i wouldnt buy it here either. its even more expensive here than in brooklyn! at least there are convenient shipping/delivery options in nyc.

  60. I adore this! I'm really loving sheer button ups and hats lately and these are too perfect. I've been filling the house with vintage/antique pieces and I just scored the perfect 60's velvet sofa! I'm spoiled though, we have a huge wharehouse thrift store a few blocks away that's super cheap!
