that swagger

Outfit Details:
chiffon top - gift from ModCloth
sports bra (underneath) - Forever 21
floral skirt - Forever 21
tights - we love colors
Mother of Pearl shoes - gift from Seychelles
Ray-Ban glasses
vintage hand necklace and ring - gifts from my mom
K ring - gift from my step-grandma
Mid City Tote in Poppy - gift from Foley and Corinna
lipstick: Dior Addict Lipstick in Diorkiss

Yesterday, while chatting with my friend Katy, a guy walked up and said "Look at you in those glasses, lookin' all smart and sexy. You got that swagger!" Though it was kind of awkward at the time, I couldn't help but think of Miss Kimberly and how much she would appreciate that line. I came home, had a long phone conversation with her and totally forgot to tell her about it. Instead, we watched my favorite scenes from Dirty Dancing on repeat and lamented over Johnny Castle, talked about ridiculous things and planned a road trip. Priorities, you know? But seriously, they don't make them like Patrick Swayze anymore. He was a quadruple threat!

  2. That is a LOVELY outfit. It's super feminine and looks so comfy at the same time. I'm beginning to love all things sheer. Also, it's always kind of weird and funny to receive compliments from strangers! I agree with him though. Those glasses and that lovely combo of red and black--swag :)

  18. Solsi: I am so sorry - I know I've said a million times that I would do one but I've been waiting for Bobby to have a little time off of work so he can photograph it. I tried doing it myself but it's difficult to do my hair and use a remote and make sure I'm in frame at the same time! Unless I do another video, I guess.

  47. Aahh, this outfit's fantastic. Also, I love your new glasses. I'd been pining over a pair of Tom Ford cat eye sunglasses and was seriously considering shelling out the $400 to buy a pair when--lo and behold! I found a knock off pair on St. Mark's for $7. One of the many reasons why I love New York.

  54. Hey Keiko!

Hmm, as an optician, I am personally skeptical about buying optical products online (optical quality, measurement issues, fitting complications, etc.) however, I like that Warby Parker is giving a pair away to someone in need. I like the cause.

If I had to choose a frame that I think you should try, it would be the "Winston" in Lunar Fade. It's retro, its fun, its a different shape than what you are currently wearing. Though, I also love the cat eye look (your current glasses). It's IN. I wish my patients were more "daring". I'm getting a pair for myself!

Anyhow, I can link you to other styles that I think would fit a little better. Of course, it's hard to fit someone in glasses when they are across the country :)

    Let me know if interested!
