I've been getting a lot of requests for more understated looks, and since last week's look was super dramatic, I felt this was the perfect time to dial it back a bit. Urban Decay recently sent me their new Urban Bride kit, which was a perfect starting point for a soft, neutral look. Of course, I had to add a little something to the eyes - but I kept it pretty simple. What I used and step by step instructions on how to achieve this look are after the jump.
What I used:
Urban Bride kit - gift from Urban Decay (comes with All Nighter makeup setting spray, supercurl curling mascara, razor sharp finishing powder, marshmallow body powder, primer potion, Midnight Cowboy Lip Junkie lipgloss - I used everything except the finishing powder in this look)
Start with your usual face routine - for me, that's moisturizer, primer and foundation (I went for the HD instead of Laura Mercier for this look because I needed the extra coverage). Next, let's focus on the eyes:
Clean up any fallout, apply blush and spray entire face with All Nighter setting spray. Dust marshmallow body powder along your collarbone and shoulders (optional) for some shimmer. Finished!
I love working with brides. And I always think that a more understated look where the bride herself shines thru more than the makeup, is always the smart way to go. I will have to check this UD Bride kit out!! Truly like your blog!!
This looks lovely! Great instructive pictures as well.
One question - does that make up setting spray work? My make up tends to run off my face, especially in hot weather, and I'd love to find something that makes it stay in place!
Absolutely gorgeous tutorial! Love the subtlety of this whole tutorial and of course you are stunning. Thanks so much for sharing. I never could figure out where on the brow bone I should apply the eye shadow.
OH I love this natural look on you. I tend to have this look most of the time but I especially love the way you used the soft shadows. :) Beautifully done!
Love this! Perfect Spring look as well. Seeing your Makeup Mondays is reminding me that I severely need to update my makeup bag and brushes! The same stuff piled up forever does tend to get a little "blah"
Gorgeous as always! I just posted about you on my blog -- you continue to inspire me with new looks
