Country Girl

Outfit Details:
vintage dress - courtesy of Iron Orchid Vintage
belt - thrifted
shoes - courtesy of Seychelles (there's one pair left in size 8 here)

We spent our first day in Florida at my mom's ranch, in Fellsmere. Shawny (my pony and bff for over 21 years) just had surgery, so I wanted to check in on him and spend some time with our horses and goats. We also went out for some good southern food and sweet tea and let Miku run around the property until she was ready to pass out.

Bobby and Thelma played their favorite game. It's called "Let's headbutt each other." She also loves to chew on clothes and dance on cars. When my car was parked on the property near their pen, Thelma and Louise used to jump on the hood and do a little goat dance. This was my car, so I wasn't terribly worried about it getting dirty. My uncle was not as amused when they did their little tap routine on his car.

The heels were only for our lunch outing; I'm not crazy. I changed into muck boots when it came time to tend to Shawny, clean the stalls and feed the horses and goats. Miku and I played fetch, in which she always returns with a completely different, usually much larger stick.

In short, it was a beautiful day to be in Fellsmere. I only wish my little pony was feeling better:(

  20. I have recently begun following this blog, so hello, Keiko Lynn! I usually think Taylor Swift with cute country-style dresses along with a pair of boots (especially in one image in this post). That light blue dress is very lovely along with those dark purple pumps. The boots offer a nice touch to this whole outfit. Miku is a lovely dog.

  21. What beautiful shoes! (And what a beautiful girl!) You look like Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz. I'm so envious of your ability to just hang out with a bunch of animals, whenever you please - you always seem to have such a lovely time at your mum's ranch.

  25. I love the dress with the shoes! It looks amazing, pairing such a fancy dress with wellies is my imagination of heidi (which is a girl from a children's story, who lives with her grandfather in the alps). Hope you have fun staying at home and spending time with your beloved ones!

  26. Wow! You’re gorgeous! Seriously! Not fair hahaha…you know what would have looked awesome with this outfit though???? MILKMAID BRAIDS! They would have pulled together the whole “country girl” theme! I have a how to that I blogged about just today…but I got the idea from a very cool lady (Veronika from Tick Tock Vintage). Very easy to do! But either way…you look simply stunning!

  32. I just love this shoot! I grew up around farms too, so this connects with me deeply. Loved the goat! Goats are so funny. Either cantankerous or sweet.

And I adored the shoes. Rather vintage looking but very modern.

  84. Anonymous: I adopted Miku. I have never purchased a dog or cat, because there are so many in need of homes. If you are looking for a particular breed, there are lots of breed-specific rescues you can look into. I really don't know anything about breeders, but I would advise against pet shops. Try to adopt...you will be doing a great thing!
