Keiko, was wondering if you have any recommended video or step-by-step for putting hair up just like in this entry of yours. I tried and my hair is straight and smooth naturally and it's a big fail. :(
I have been asked for a tutorial but I don't really know how to give a step by step...because I just loop it through an elastic a couple of times and then loosen up the bun and sides of my hair. I need someone to take pictures because I couldn't do it myself. If you have super straight and smooth, it needs some texture. Try back combing a little bit, or adding some product and blowing it dry upside down (let it cool before flipping it over). Bumble and bumble surf spray is awesome for adding texture - spray it in and scrunch with your hands.
yes! heres to messy hair! i never fix my hair, i think a majority of people kill their hair when they straighten it every day! plus you have perfectly textured hair, and the bangs make it look great up!
please check out my blog, because i have a giveaway going on the next 2 weeks! I would REALLY appreciate it! here is a link to the giveaway: http://steffysprosandcons.blogspot.com/2011/02/steffys-pros-and-cons-first-giveaway.html
This look is messy without looking like, "Hey, I just slept for nine hours and couldn't get up in time for class, so I threw my hair up without looking in a mirror," or, "Hey ... I just had sex." Both are awkward. This is super cute. If I possessed any skill whatsoever with my hair, I would totally steal this look from you.
ha! the only time i truly embrace "messy" hair is when my 2 year old niece wants to do my hair. she grabs a comb and brush and makes up her own little creation.
Haha, perfect post since I've refused to do anything to my hair in two days (except flat iron the bangs). Ehh, I'll brush it and wash it tonight. Though I wish MY messy hair looked like YOUR messy hair!
This sounds so lame and I can't believe I'm admitting this but I've always envied girls who look great with a messy bun. I just look like a freak. Oh, boy. Only me.
I need one of these for my bathroom mirror. To convince myself that my epic failure mop of hair is okay to be messy. Still working on convincing myself...lol
Thanks for the tips Keiko! Yeah, my hair is super straight naturally (so straight that bobby pins slide on them). I will try it again giving it more texture. Thanks!
Great post. Your hair does not look MESSY at all! It looks absolutely beautiful.
I love your name by the way-- my middle name is very similar (remove the K off of your name!) and my best friend's middle name is the same as your first name.

My boyfriend just forwarded this to me to let me know he embraces my messy hair. Not sure how to take that. I'd be very happy if my messy hair looked even the slightest bit as good as yours...
Funnelcloud Rachel: Thank you so much for the awesome prints (with the even better price tags). I will certainly buy more if you ever make new prints like these:)
p.s. Thank you to everyone for the sweet comments!
I purchased the same print from Funnelcloud. I instantly fell in love with it when I first saw it on Cup of Jo. And your messy is definitely more pretty. ;) How was FW? Will you be posting more pics?
