Leather jacket that I always wear and you're probably sick of it - courtesy of Coach
This is me in yesterday's outfit...today. Yesterday's clothes, yesterday's hair and makeup (with a little touch up, of course). I had the intention of going to bed early, failed miserably and instead, stayed up all night. I got some sewing done, did the dishes and vacuumed the floors, listened to some party music and generally had an awesome night. I'm not being sarcastic - I love staying up all night. I know it's not a good thing to do and I don't do it often anymore, but skipping sleep and having a full day ahead of me is one of my guilty pleasures.
When I was in high school and college, I used to pull all-nighters all the time because I thought that's what young people were supposed to do (or maybe I just felt like it). Of course, it's a lot more fun when you're on a midnight adventure that lasts through sunrise and you end up on a beach or in another city. This had nothing of that sort - but you better believe that if I had a car of my own, I would already be outta here on a road trip with little Miku in tow. Instead, I'm just going to take a shower and put on some new clothes, get a little more work done and then get the heck out of the apartment for awhile. Party of Helicopters' Please Believe It (old but still the best) is today's official soundtrack and I'm set on having a good day.
p.s. Did you notice that Miku has been working her way into all of my indoor pictures? You lucky bastards.

Thank you! I needed a productive night. I have been in such a rut since I came back from Florida. I haven't been able to get a whole lot of work done, because it's really hard to use scissors and sew with a broken hand. I get stir crazy!

That sounds like a blast, though I think I'd be useless if I stayed up through the night. You look totally gorgeous. You give me total hair envy. I love it! And I'd be wearing the hell out of that jacket, too. It would be wrong not to.

Keiko, I absolutely LOVE this outfit. It's the perfect mixture of comfy and polished. I was just noticing how your style has shifted from girly and frilly (which I loved!) to sleeker and darker (which I love too!). It's so interesting to have photo documentation of your sartorial shifts. It would be really cool to hear your thoughts on this--especially about the ways in which we change our style with age, experiences, and regional differences. Makes me wish I had kept some kind of photo log, too!

Thao: I definitely go back and forth between different styles. I still do majorly girlie sometimes, but it's harder to pull off in a lot of layers. Lately I have been dressing really casually just because it's easier. I guess I don't put much thought into my style - I just wear whatever I feel like wearing. It's funny because I always have a hard time explaining my taste in clothing. It varies with my mood!

You look marvellously awake for someone who hasn't had any sleep. I find I am so much more inspired to get things done at nighttime, but have to force myself to go to bed so I'm not wrekced at work the next day. This makes me want to stay up and clean my house, isn't that sad!
