A lot of you have emailed me or tweeted about it, but I forgot to post about it. I'm in this month's Glamour! They asked me to style a Chanel jacket, which made me insanely nervous. Not because it was going to be featured in a magazine, but because that freaking thing cost over 14 times what I paid for my last car. Okay, so that might also mean I had a ridiculously cheap car, but still. I was afraid to touch it, let alone wear it and depreciate its value. Such a beauty! Luckily, I returned it in the same pristine condition in which it was delivered. This might seem like a small feat to you, but to those who know me best or have witnessed my level of clumsy (hi, Christine! Thanks for helping me clean the food off my skirt at last night's formal dinner), this is a goddang miracle.
See how others styled this beautiful jacket here.
Outfit Details:
Chanel jacket: on loan for a styling session
belt: beacon's closet
skirt: Postlapsaria, self made
shoes: Steve Madden
ring: vintage, from my mom
(my good friend Samara did my hair in Heidi braids)

You look amazing! I love how you styled it - it looks adorable with that mustard belt and the layered skirt!
ReplyDeleteAnd I know exactly what you mean. Many times I've lusted after something beautiful but thought I couldn't justify buying something that cost half as much/twice as much as my cheapo car, haha :)
X

I love how you styled it! Definitely my fav look!
ReplyDeleteAnd yah, I would have been so scared to ruin that jacket. I don't have the best luck with expensive items. That's one of the reasons I can't justify buying anything expensive! I'd be too scared to wear it!
Really great job though and congrats on being chosen :)
It was crazy...I opened the November Glamour...and was like hey that's keiko! You look gorgeous as usual. Love how your paired everything together, and those Steve Madden pumps are darling.

I was so excited when I opened my glamour and saw you in there! how exciting! I would be equally terrified of damaging such an expensive jacket too, I'm glad it all turned out well for you.
ReplyDeleteOh man...I would've been nervous as all get out to touch that thing.
ReplyDeleteWhile in Paris I almost bought a vintage Chanel cardigan at some Flea Market/Antique Market in Nice. But it wasn't my size (size Giant) and I didn't think it fair to take something I'd never wear. But it was beautiful and about $200 CAD.
i would've been so nervous about getting makeup on the jacket. nevertheless, you did a great job styling it. love the colors.
ReplyDeleteWhat an honor!? You must be so excited to see the final product in the magazine. I know I can't wait :)
ReplyDeletePS: I'd love for you to pop by my blog and enter my very first giveaway! So excited Im getting the chance to do my very first one!
