Starting tomorrow, my little sister Tessa will be a freshman in high school. I know I sound old when I say things like this, but it feels like I just walked her home from kindergarten, yesterday. I cried when she started kindergarten, so you can only imagine how much I'm freaking out about this.
The Colts shirt was passed down from my mom, to my older sister Nicole, to me, to Amanda, back to me, and now to Tessa Marie. It's kind of neat that all of us went to the same high school - and that, as horse people, our mascot is a colt!

awww! i (kinda) know how you feel, my cousin is starting high school this year. it's scary, i remember when she was so much younger! and now she's growing up. i mean, i'm not too much older than her, but still. it's crazy. i love her and i don't want her corrupted! haha

ReplyDeleteI used to live in Coral Springs and was a total barn rat at Millpond Farm down by Wiles Rd! I miss spending all summer day at the barn riding horses and barebacking into the pond with my friends. Good times!

ReplyDeleteToday I started my first day back to school, too ... as a teacher. This is my 5th year teaching high school, 1st year teaching freshmen. Oh, and our school mascot is also a horse! We go by "the thoroughbreds." :)

ReplyDeleteIt is nice that you are so a part of her life even with the distance in age. My oldest brother is almost 10 years older than me and he always apologizes because he missed out on most of my life trying to find his own. I didn't really ever see him between second grade and up until I was 20. I adjusted to it as a kid so it didn't really bother me too much.
Oh man, I can't believe you went to Coral Springs High! That's only like an hour away from my house.
