Someone in the universe took pity on me and my ancient phone. Last week(ish), I was invited to a leisurely day of food, drinks, Minx manicures (!!!) and a little bit of tech discussion at Meet at the Apartment, hosted by HTC. Though I admit I was drawn to the event mostly by talk of free Minx manicures (I'm cheap, I know) - it was also pretty exciting to play with their new Droid Incredible. Even more exciting - we got to keep them! It's no match for my free upgrades and hand me down, crappy phones (note my sarcasm), but it's alright;) Unfortunately, I don't have Verizon, I have AT&T. I have a lot of issues with AT&T, but most of my family and friends have it. Does anyone have feedback about Verizon? Specifically, people in NYC?
Aside from being hosted by some really wonderful people, I also ran into a lot of familiar faces. It was reminiscent of a slumber party, complete with cupcakes!

That pink blouse is the perfect blouse for interviews, I think. Well, and, well... anything else. But it's wonderful! It would hide a multitude of sins, not that you have any from what I can see.

ReplyDeleteI love Verizon. I now live in Connecticut but I used to live in Westchester County (and frequented the city) and no matter where I was my phone always worked. I've never had a problem with them.

I have found Verizon to be really great in NYC actually - I can't think of a single place I don't get reception back home (I'm in Chicago now). But you might want to ask your neighbors if any have Verizon and if there have been any problems.

ReplyDeleteAs for Verizon: I don't have their cell phone service, but their wireless internet service is THE WORST. Their customer service is terrible, and the actual internet service is spotty at best. We once had a problem for a YEAR until they finally decided that maybe I wasn't just calling them for fun and sent us a new modem.
All that being said, the Droid phones are totally neat.

I've had verizon for over 10 years and my parents have had it longer ...I don't even think I can understand life without verizon lol ...amazing phones great service my only problem is the whole internet with the phone ordeal but I think i'll get over that soon lol ....but seriously I believe they are the best

I've been with Verizon for over a decade and their wireless service is impeccable. Customer service is awesome, very few of my calls drop, etc.

ReplyDeleteI'm in the UK so I don't know about Verizon, but I have a HTC Hero and I cannot say enough good things about it, I want to marry it, etc etc. The Android interface is amazing and I'm going to poke my eyes out if I ever have to use a Nokia again.
ReplyDeleteSo basically, if I was you, and even if the phone was on a network administered by a group of farmyard animals (it probably is, actually), I WOULD STILL MARRY THIS PHONE. It's that good.

I'm in New Orleans, but I switched to Verizon a couple of years ago, because of a discount through work, after only having AT&T before that. While my boyfriend still has AT&T and the iPhone, which I really want, I've been tempted lately to look closer at the Droid because there are many occasions where I'll have reception with Verizon and he won't even be able to get text messages to go through. So while the iPhone is my shiny reason for sort of wanting to swtich back to AT&T, if there is a phone you know you like with Verizon, I highly recommend their service. (I also switched to them because they are consistently ranked highest in Consumer Reports among the major carriers.)

Not only because I work for VZW...but it is the best service and that phone is AMAZING! You will not be able to put it down. If you switch (and you won't regret it) I predict the phone will become a permenant accessory in all your outfit posts.

That looks like a lot of fun! Despite indulging in everything else beauty and fashion related I've never ever ever gotten a manicure, and I don't think a weird slap of clear white nailpolish very sloppily applied to my nails by a not-so-nimble handed twelve year old in an underground 'beauty salon' in the Beijing subway station that was offered to me as a promotion that ended up being some kind of scam that my friend and I ran away from counts!

ReplyDeleteVerizon landline communications is completely separate from the Verizon Wireless Company. So did you actually have a completely wireless internet modem through Verizon Wireless? They actually assign a telephone number to your wireless modem because the modem runs off the wireless network. So if you had a problem with that, then you would have a problem with your Incredible.
ReplyDeleteSince you already have the phone, you can start service with Verizon Wireless with no contract, so you can cancel at any time if you don't like it!
Even if you don't want to switch to Verizon and keep the phone, you could sell it on eBay for quite a pretty penny.

I've been with Verizon, AT&T, and am currently with T-Mobile, and Verizon is hands down the best carrier of the three.

I've had Verizon for over 10 years and have no complaints at all. I'm not in NYC, but in San Francisco I know several people who have iPhones and carry separate phones to actually make phone calls because AT&T is so bad here. A month ago I got a Droid phone (not the incredible, the one with the keyboard), and I love it! If you're going to switch, do it soon, because there are rumors that Verizon will follow AT&T's lead and get rid of unlimited data plans for new customers.

I bought the incredible when it came out. I looovoveeee it. No, but really Verizon has the best coverage in the nation. So if you're worried about reception. They should be your carrier.

ReplyDeleteLooks like a really fun event (delicious food)! As for your cell phone question, I'm a Verizon user and have had very good luck with it. They weren't particularly helpful once when it got damaged, but my reception is always better than my friends' who have AT&T or T-Mobile.

Honestly, Verizon ROCKS in NYC! ...unfortunately, it got way too costly for hubby and I to both have smartphones on that network. We were Verizon customers for about 10 years. Then we paid to get out of our contract and headed over to Sprint. We got 2 awesome smartphones at monthly price we could live with and the service has been great!
