Wash, Wear, Repeat.

Something you should know about me: I exhaust the things I love. My favorite songs are played on repeat until everyone wants to throw my computer out the window, every Pushing Daisies and Arrested Development episode has been watched several times. I play specific scenes from Romeo + Juliet over and over and ever since Jeremy introduced me to this commercial, I'm pretty sure Kim and I have watched it ten times.

Clothing and accessories are no exception. I probably have about fifty pairs of shoes, but I always reach for the same select few. My bag? Until I find something comparable to switch it up a bit (it's the perfect bag for me), it is what I will use 90% of the time. And this bow belt - forget it. I wear it every other day, despite having an obscene collection of belts. I get comfortable with something and reach for it instinctively. Not to mention, since I wore them the other day, they happen to be within reach, draped over my chair or sitting next to the door. I haven't decided whether or not this is a habit that needs to be broken...maybe I should branch out a little more, though. I know you all must be tired of seeing the same thing over and over.

I did manage to infuse some life into my tired closet via my new fringe skirt, which came to me courtesy of Shop Mamie. I met Amy, one half of the Shop Mamie duo, during fashion week and the lot of us (Amanda, Samara and Kim included) were attached at the hip all day and night. I thought about wearing my new skirt the day we met up, but it's always a little awkward being that girl. I love the movement of fringe skirts (I still need to return Samara's to her...); it makes walking around so much more enjoyable. I have a tendency to strut a little more when there is something to be put in motion, especially when paired with a really great song on my iPod. I guess I like to pretend I'm living in a movie, soundtrack and all. Does anyone else do that?

shirt - Beacon's Closet
belt - thrifted

I think walking places listening to your ipod makes everything seem a little happier. It IS like your personal life soundtrack, which is completely awesome and amazingly fun. :)

I like the 20s infusion that the fringe skirt adds, and how you've paired it with the soft vintage top. Gorgeous!

You look so cute! I love the shirt a lot ^.^

I am the same way about exhausting things I love. Especially music and shoes. I listen to the same songs over and over till I tire of them or find a new one. Great outfit as always!

I love your skirt and your whole ensemble. :) The powder-y snow definitely adds an extra lovely touch. It almost looks like fake snow! ^^

I'm the exact same way. Whether it's a meal, an outfit, an album, everything!

Keiko, you look beautiful!

I do the same thing! I listen to the same song over and over and over again. My husband gets so annoyed, haha! I love this entire outfit, you're gorgeous!

Ohhh my gosh, those Alice + Olivia heels are AMAZING.

Do you ever find that you reach for the same color often? I realized recently that not only do I reach for the same clothes over and over, I have FOUR green bags #_#

haha! it totally do this! to the point of where my boyfriend has declared hate for a certain pair of grey guess pants/leggings i wear. i also wear my vintage equestrian boots nearly every single day in the winter. for the past 3 years. yeah, they are used quite a bit haha. i'm glad i'm not the only one :)

Pink ruffle and fringe, wow! I'm also guilty of wearing the same favorite black cardigan over and over again!

i agree completely with wearing things over and over and over. you can't help what you are comfortable with and what you love to wear! and if it looks good, keep doing it!

so cute! i love that top! I do the same thing with my clothes. once i find something new that i love, i wear it constantly and then wonder "what did i do before i owned this?"

YOU love Pushing Daisies and Arrested Development too?? Ahhhh such TV love, I love it! I was just thinking about PD recently, actually. I think a shot of saturated colors is just what we all need. :)

I love the black fringe against the soft pink ruffles-- so romantic! I know what you mean about using clothes over and over. Having a very limited budget, I try to make do with what I have, like wearing that one belt over and over (everyone can prolly tell from my blog, haha).

And it looks like you're feeling better? I hope!

Wow.
I have a lot in common with you.
I love Pushing Daises, the day the aired that last episode I was near tears.
I have a certain song on repeat now like I do with every song in my itunes and I wear out my favorite dresses etc, way too much...
(:

I'm pretty sure everyone does that with their ipods. Or maybe it's only you and me. But I usually assume that if I do something, everyone must do it, and they don't want to admit it. One if the things I like about your blog is how nonchalant you are about your quirkiness.

That skirt is adorable!

Did it snow in Brooklyn today, or are these pictures from last week? We didn't get very cold weather up in Bronxland today, no where near cold enough for snow. Don't you wish it would be spring already?

I just received a fringe skirt that i had ordered from urban outfitters. It's been up there on my list for quite a while; I just want to go out dancing in a fringe skirt! Much to my dismay, the only kind of dancing that would be appropriate in this skirt is the exotic kind! So so short and even more disappointing.

Your outfit is lovely; you styled that skirt beautifully.
I wouldn't worry about repeating clothing items. We all have our staples.

I loooove the romantic color/ruffles of the top. Superb!!

i love the fringe skirt! you were able to make it your own, even if it's not something you'd typically wear.

i know what you mean about wearing the same things over and over. i do the same thing! i wear my bow belts and black flats all the time, and i feel silly posting outfit pictures that seem to have similar elements in all of them.

but whatever. i don't think anyone could really tell unless they paid reeeeeally close attention! ;)

Love the fringe skirt and I know what you mean - definately love the swish for walking. I constantly picture mysef in a musical movie and see people doing choreography around me when I have my music on...

Great heels... I am a repeater too.
Specially with music, my co workers hated me for it.
I use to play the same songs over and over prior to a concert to make sure I knew all the lyrics... crazy me.

I wear out the things I love too. I forever wonder Does wearing a lot of the same things makes it your signature style, or constitutes a style rut?? maybe a bit of both??

adorable.

I'm totally the same way. My poor husband has to listen to Tom Petty, Metric, CCR and the Mammia Mia soundtrack over and over and over.

It's the same with clothes.

At least I'm not the only one guilty of this :)

Hi keiko! I am the exact same way. I have so many pieces (tops, jeans, pants, and shoes) yet I have about five outfits that I wear constantly. I recently counted forty pairs of shoes yet everytime I reach for my brown boots.

I read your blog all the time, we have very similar style and I am so jealous that you live in New York, and I'm stuck in yucky Orlando. However, I didn't know you were friends with Jeremy! I am too : )

Ha, I do the same thing. Watch things over and over and play the same songs until everyone is completely annoyed by it.
You look snowdorable!

That ad is amazingly ridiculous, I love it! I love the gloves as well, there are times when I wish I was out of school so I could focus more time on my fashion sense instead of my homework.

I LLLOOOOOOVVVVEEEEE that commercial: the first time I say it was with my boyfriend and we saw it play on the bigscreen while we were waiting for the movie to start... we were transfixed and as soon as it was over we turned towards each other and vowed to find it and watch it repeatedly...

Super cute outfit! And I really don't think your habits need to be changed- there is a reason we keep reaching for the things we love, right?

Also love the nod to Pushing Daisies and ESPECIALLY Arrested Development, of which I think I can quote almost every episode verbatim- yikes. It's too good for me to be too embarrassed though, I can't wait for the movie!

this little ensemble is just too adorable! you go ahead and wear it until it falls apart :)
