If you want a girl who's sentimental...

I know I'm a train wreck, and it seems like I'm always apologizing for one reason or another. I'm not even going to try and negate that, because it's the truth. Instead, I want to say how grateful I am to have such supportive readers. You all are wonderful. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. I cried my eyes out while reading through the comments and emails from all of you.

It has been a really tough year, but I am okay. I just had an amazing weekend with my dad's side of the family and it really turned things around. Pop-Pop's funeral was so much more than that - it was a celebration of his life and the people he loved, which is the way it should be. Seeing my family was just what I needed. We were only missing a handful of people, which is pretty incredible, since our family is huge. I'll post pictures another day, but if you're friends with me on facebook, you can see them for yourself (I just posted a whole album).

Anyway, I just wanted to let you all know how much I appreciate your support, and let you know I'm still breathing. These photos have absolutely nothing to do with this post (although I did wear the same dress to the funeral), but I happened to have them on my camera and was excited to be able to post something a little more on task. They're obviously a little old (I'm still in Florida) but they're new to the blog:)

Outfit details:
Dress and blazer: H&M
shoes: Jeffrey Campbell
belt: Beacon's closet

Love love and everlasting gratitude,
Keiko Lynn

I was really hoping to see "Postlapsaria" as the detail for that belt, because I was going to beg you to make me one. I absolutely adore it! If you ever decide to get rid of it or sell it, let me know! I absolutely love the color and fabric. The styling of this outfit is really gorgeous too, it looks so nice with the blue.

Glad to see you smiling!

Actually, I used to make belts identical to this one! A really, really long time ago. I was considering making them again, but in different fabrics. Thanks!

I love that dress. You're strong and beautiful, don't forget that. Most people wouldn't be able to come out smiling after the past few weeks you've had, but you are. I can't wait till things get more normal for you, and we can start seeing regular blog posts again from you. You've always been one of my favorite bloggers since the LiveJournal days, and one of the people who got me into selling my things online and fashion blogging.

I've been eyeballing that belt too...I was thinking of making one for myself.

I'm happy you're doing better!

<3 Your post below made me cry, and I cried again when I read it the second time. I foster/rescue special needs animals, and I've done the same thing. I've held a little body in my hands and sobbed till my nose bled, because caring for our animals and knowing their love is sometimes the only thing a kid has to live on. And I don't think that's melodramatic or insane - it's just how life is. And the people who don't understand...well, honestly, they should probably be grateful they don't. But at the same time, I'm sorry they'll never experience the same love.

And I'll keep you in my prayers.

I'd like to quote those terrible kitten posters from the '80s that said, "Hang in there, baby!"
I'm sure it'll take a while to recover from everything, but maybe that's OK because it shows just how much they meant to you.
We're sending you lots of good thoughts in the meantime.

You're such a trooper Keiko and that's one of the many traits that I admire about you, life is full of obstacle and you just have to keep on going. Best wishes.

I've been a reader of your blogs for awhile but have never commented until now. But after reading this post as well as the one below it, I can't NOT comment. From reading all the posts on your blog, it is clear that you're such a lovely, strong woman and I hope you always remember that!! Your outfit today is beautiful, too. I absolutely adore that dress.

I am glad the funeral went well, it's great to get closure and feel the support of family getting together. At my Grandpa's funeral we vowed that we wouldn't wait until something tragic happens before all the family gets together.

You look positively lovely!! I love love the contrasts you chose... the contrast in textures between the velvet and lace, the contrast in colors between the blue and gold, and the contrast between masculine vs. feminine with the blazer and the 50's style dress.

And dear heart, always remember that cloudy skies lead to sunny ones. All my love to you and yours.

You are not a mess! Anyone would be having to go through all that you have in such a short time. I think you are holding yourself together very well. I admire your ability to post all of these tribulations, I probably couldn't.

PS. LOVE the dress I have it also, and wore it to my 6 year anniversary with my Boyfriend.

You've experienced quite a bit of loss in a short amount of time. it's good to have such inner strength, but don't forget that it's also ok to be weak sometimes. I think it's an important part of any healing process.

You look beautiful and that mustard bow is such a perfect touch! xo.
