Little Dolly

I feel rather guilty every time I visit my mom's store; she always loads my bag with vintage pretties and never lets me pay. My most recent trip to Florida left me with several pounds of clothing, accessories and a hat box full of vintage underpinnings still in their packages. I also picked up a few pairs of shoe clips, of which one pair is shown above. They're the perfect pick-me-up for any pair of shoes - you can wear them on the front or back, as shown. Considering how much I've been wearing my Seychelles Blimeys (they're so comfy!), it's about time I accessorize them a bit.

This was the last day of no laundry, which is why I ended up wearing another Postlapsaria dress. I now have a couple of loads worth of clean clothing, so I can stop cutting into my own profit. It's really bad when you actually go out and buy a ton of new underwear, just to delay laundry day. Really, I know that's too much information but it seems relevant to this topic. We'll go with it.

In other news, my little sister (who, at 23, is not so little anymore) Amanda is coming to New York for fashion week! I couldn't be more excited. Which brings me to this: NYFW Roll Call! Who will be here? Looking forward to seeing so many of you again - and meeting some of you for the first time!

Outfit Details:
Little Dolly Dress - Coming soon to Postlapsaria
bow belt - thrifted
tights - Gap
Blimey shoes - courtesy of Seychelles
shoe clips - Hourglass Consignment

Makeup Details:
Smashbox photo finish
concealer
MAC mineralize skinfinish natural in Light
MAC bare canvas paint
MAC blacktrack fluidline
MAC espresso shadow (brows)
MAC mineralize skinfinish in refined
random eyeshadow quartet (physician's formula? the label is gone)
Benefit badgal lash mascara
lipstick of some sort that Kim gave to me

Love love,
Keiko Lynn

notjustmedical: Thank you so much!

princess poochie: Definitely! Hopefully we'll be attending some of the same shows or events!

jenloveskev: I'd love to see you! A few of us were too late to register for the conference but I think Jennine said something about a dress up event. I hope that happens so we can have all of us in one room again;)

Naomi: I'm glad I'm not the only one! Thank you.

Diane: Thank you! Looking forward to seeing you this week. Btw, Sheila never got back to me about the silent auction - I know she must be crazy busy though. I'll plan for it just in case:)

Mel: I will probably post it on the site tonight!

Diana: Thank you!

Stephanie: haha yesss, that's me;)

Oh darling, sometimes I purposely don't bring a jacket on an outing on a chilly night just so I have an excuse to buy something new...!

I have never heard of shoe clips before! Those are absolutely fantastic. And you are so lucky to have a mommy with a vintage store, so jealous..

Your makeup is gorgeous and I love that dress. I am also ashamed to say I didn't even know shoe-clips existed. I LOVE them. Seems like a great way to turn old shoes into new ones :)

Check out my (new) blog if you ever have some time :) - Celine

shoe clips! say WHAT?! what a great invention - they go so perfectly w/those oxford heels.

unfortunately, we won't be able to make it this time but hope to get up there in the fall!

Keiko Lynn said...

Erin (calivintage): Yes! I was thinking if Jenny (Feldman) has a free moment, the three of us should meet up for coffee or something. We went out the other night and you came up in conversation (all good things, of course). And I can't hear/see the word totes without thinking of Fred Flare:)

mirattes: thank you!

Dap: That's a girl after my own heart;)

Celine: Thank you, I will check it out! Also, shoe clips are great - I have a bunch of vintage ones I need to wear more often.

Keiko Lynn said...

chicfaced: Yes, plan accordingly! It will be more enjoyable then anyway, because you won't have to freeze your bum off.

I wish I was going to fashion week. I'm hoping I can find a way to go via Converse since I intern with them. It's making me kind of wish I'd accepted working at Brian Reyes but I've always loved Converse. Have fun at the shows you go to.

Hey, I know you're not wearing it in this photo, but what's the name of the burt's bees chapstick you always wear???

Jenny (this is Keiko - signed into a group account, sorry!)

I use the classic Burt's Bees - it's just called Burt's Bees beeswax lip balm. It's the all yellow packaging, not the one with the red top. It's peppermint and it's my favorite!
