This vintage purse's coin bag still had a bunch of coins and tickets from 1965 and before (all the way back to the 40s wheat pennies). It made me so excited! I'm keeping them in there.

After several days of being pampered by my sunshine Bobby boyfriend (homemade soups!), I'm finally starting to feel a little less dead to the world. I took the opportunity to ham it up in a holiday dress, complete with a petticoat underneath. We made up for the lack of outfit posts by taking several million pictures, as you can see. I'm proud of myself for actually getting dressed and going out into the world for a few minutes! I had to get into the holiday spirit before my Florida departure, since I'm about to go from cool winter weather to the mid-eighties of Broward county. We went to see the tree at Rockefeller, had some good soup and then headed back to the apartment, where I am currently pretending to pack my luggage.
While our brief excursion did work somewhat, I'm feeling pretty down. Bobby isn't going home for Christmas (he couldn't get out of work) and I hate leaving him here. I hate the idea of him being alone on Christmas and New Year's Eve, even though he doesn't seem to mind it very much. Maybe he's just trying to keep me from getting upset (not working).
Will someone please keep my boyfriend company on Christmas? Preferably someone who isn't going to try and make the moves on him? ;)
Love love,
Keiko Lynn

As usual perfection. Love the dress my dear and you are looking gorgeous as always.

Your outfit is so dreamy!
ReplyDeleteThat is so neat that you found treasures in your vintage purse =]
Aww that is so sad! I'm sorry he will be alone :( Maybe you can leave him little notes around the house to find or something..?
ReplyDeleteBut your entire outfit is so romantic! I love it!
I love the top of your dress -- you look so festive! Neato finds in the purse too! You look beautiful. :)
ReplyDeleteBoo for not being together on Christmas/New Year's -- maybe you can celebrate before or after when he has some time off?
- JoAnn, Sidewalk Chalk
i love your dress!
ReplyDeletethat little purse is so cute, even more with what it contained :)
Brittany and Sidewalk Chalk: We're going to celebrate Christmas when I get back - Christmas dinner, presents and hopefully even a little tree. I imagine there will be great sales on the little fake trees after Christmas!
ReplyDeleteLOL. Yeah I wouldn't put that out there because alot of people will put the moves on him. Maybe it will all workout? He seems like the surprising type to me..
ReplyDeletep.s. This outfit is adorable and perfection all around.
aww! so sad about your boyfriend. I'd gladly keep him company (I'll be in nyc!) but I'm sure he could find someone much less dull. :o) maybe you guys could have a phone new year's kiss.
ReplyDeleteI hope you (both) enjoy your holidays anyway. and you look beautiful, as usual!
Linda: Thank you! Unfortunately, on top of not being able to take time off of work, we have the critters to take care of. I usually fly with Miku, but since Bobby is staying here, she's going to keep him company. No surprises:( But we'll celebrate when I get back.
ReplyDeleteOh and I know a lot of people would put moves on him. My family and friends put the moves on him all the time, haha. But I trust him; he's a good boy.
The brocade bodice of your dress is sooo pretty! I've been looking for a brocade skirt just like that for ages.
ReplyDeletewow! what a glam outfit - perfect for this time of year. How festive to go see the tree...def. a head turner.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic dress!! you look gorgeous!!! glad you're feeling better. Enjoy the trip!!
ReplyDeletevery festive!!! thats a great look!
ReplyDeleteThe dress is gorgeous, but the treasures in that purse are the coolest!
ReplyDeletePoor Bobby. I've never spent the holidays away from my family. They annoy me no end, but I suspect I'd miss them if we were apart.
I couldn't imagine being away from my boyfriend at Christmas, but you guys will survive, it's just a day. There will be many more holidays to spend together, so keep optimistic!
ReplyDeleteI wanted to leave a comment and say I saw you guys in BUST!

I love all the detail and beauty in that dress. One thing about most clothing these days is the lack of attention to detail. That's why vintage is so great!
ReplyDeleteYou look absolutely stunning, as usual. You can't even tell you've been sick and are still recovering.
I love your dress, Keiko!! It's gorgeous, and it looks great on you...=)
ReplyDeleteOh my god, that dress is absolutely stunning! I love your sense of style so much!

Keiko, you look so darling. I love the brocade top! Beautiful and festive.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you mentioned you took a coat because the lack of one in the photos was the first thing I noticed. I was like "Oh dear, wouldn't it be a bit cold for an outfit like that at the moment in new york."
ReplyDeleteBeautiful outfit though. I ADORE petticoats :)
Beautiful dress!
ReplyDeletecolormenana.blogspot.com
lol make the moves on him (i totally say that)...you're cute :)

ReplyDeleteYay for boyfriends who make you food :)
You look so pretty in that brocade party dress! And I love violetville vintage!!! They have the most sasstastic dresses. I've been leaving my boyfriend alone on Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Years's for three straight years in a row now & I feel a little glum about it too, but it's so hard during the holidays when you have to figure out seeing family and work schedules!
ReplyDeleteYou look so so beautiful & your make up is flawless as always!

i have to leave my boyfriend alone on the holidays too, also because he couldn't get off work...wah. but i hid a few nice gifts in our apartment that i will reveal to him on christmas, so hopefully that will make things a bit better!
ReplyDeleteI love that gold brocade! Judging by the comments on your boy's LB entry in the AA competition, I don't think you can find someone who won't try to steal him away! Didn't someone write "marry me?" ;)
ReplyDeleteburgundy and gold complement each other.

The brocade is beautiful, and I love little bits of history like the ticket stubs you found in your purse. It makes vintage shopping all the more worth it. Annie.
