Prospect Park Picnic

We went on a picnic! Picnics are one of my favorite things, ever. Now that I live so close to beautiful Prospect Park, I have even more of a reason to pack a picnic and laze about. Or, more likely, prance and jump about.







We blew bubbles


ate sandwiches, with lemonade


made root beer floats


and strawberry shortcakes (with whipped cream, of course). Yes, we're gluttons!


We also flew kites!




It looks like I'm flipping him off, but I was just pushing up my sunglasses.




I wore a navy flats, a vintage blouse, and thrifted shorts, that button up the side. Oh, and new wayfarers - I just received them in the mail, from Lucky magazine. I don't know why they sent them to me, but I'm certainly grateful!






Contrary to what my overexposed pictures show, the weather was beautiful. I am having major issues with vignetting/light fallout (to the point where part of the pic will turn completely black, if I don't overcompensate). Does anyone have any experience with that? It happens only on the bottom (when horizontal) or respective side, when vertical. It happens with both lenses, and is a relatively new problem.



Ah, summer. I'm a Florida gal, through and through, so I am a lover of summer. It isn't even August yet, and I'm already dreading the end of it.

    Today me and my sister had a fashion photo shoot. We dressed up in wacky outfits and had our pictures taken. It was fabulous.

  20. I've been reading your blog for a few weeks now and I have to say I just love your red hair, it looks so good on you-it brightens up everything.
    And that's so cool that you moved to the Prospect Park area-I live like a 1/2block from the park and I have to say it makes everything about summer that much better! Although, sorry.....I am eagerly awaiting the end of summertime, cause I'm an Autumn kinda girl! I can't wait for jackets, tights, falling leaves, and brisk air!

    Looks like you had a great time at the park. I wish there was a park nearby my apartment!

    I haven't been up to much this summer. Currently in school studying, and then trying to get all my documentation and travel expenses worked out to move in the fall.

  24. I love picnics! But it was 109 here yesterday, and August only gets hotter! We have our picnics in Spetember, haha.

    There might just be a smudge on your lens. Maybe a fingerprint. I know it sounds silly, but when the pictures are overexposed on one side in our studio here, that's usually what it is...just a silly fingerprint on the lens.

  31. Gorgeous photos! The overexposure compliments the whimsy of such a great day in Prospect Park:) Yay for picnics in Brooklyn! If you get a chance next year, come spend a weekend in D.C. Beautiful outdoor festivals and dinners, bike riding through the National mall, and great thrifting in Virgina.

    Love your outfit, and the strawberry shortcakes, too!
