Today, I inadvertently dressed as a walking salt advertisement, which was just fine by me. It has been windy and rainy all week (although today was mostly windy) and I have been getting a serious case of cabin fever. Having an entire day out of the house was extremely refreshing. We had brunch, bought a lot of really awesome things at antique shop and did some grocery shopping at Trader Joe's. I spent half an hour searching through boxes of old tintype photos, magazines, advertisements and other little bits of nostalgia, from past generations. We ended up leaving with a 1915 edition of White Fang, a beautiful portrait of a woman (from 1926), a vintage "Alteration and Repairs" sign for above my sewing station, some antique bottle openers and a stack of [redacted - I know you're reading this, mom!] for my mom's birthday. The best part was finding a super old negative (of a woman hanging clothing on a line), inside of the book. I love the random things that people leave as bookmarks.

I spent most of my day pushing my hair out of my face.

umbrella: ny street vendor
vintage dress - thrifted, altered to fit and hemmed shorter) ($2)
silver tights - urban outfitters ($3.99)

p.s. I have matching hotpants underneath. Not the same fabric but same color:)
Lovely as it was, I'm already itching to get out, tomorrow. Tonight, I have a lot of work - I'm finally putting up a ton of new headbands and have to start planning for the Unique LA event. Tomorrow, we are having a picnic! That is, if the weather permits. Please, please, please...permit!
